David Zimmerman, a Texas transplant now living in Orange County, CA, discovered his love of photography while attending college in Denver, CO.  David first studied traditional film photography, spending hours in the dark room developing black and white prints.  After learning the essentials through tactile exploration, he then expanded into digital photography.  From Colorado David headed to California to study design and digital media at Laguna College of Art in Design in Laguna Beach, CA.  He advanced his work as a photographer by taking photos of local fitness instructors for a weekly email blast highlighting the latest products. This is where he found his love taking environmental portraits.  He later began focussing on more personal projects including an ongoing series of portraits of men in the LGBTQIA+ community situating his subjects not in the studio, but in nature.  This focus arose out of a need to express the complex feelings and stories of sensuality that at one time were forbidden.  Today, he continues to take portraits of members of the LGBTQIA+ community as well as commissions in fashion, beauty, and architectural photography.
